A warm welcome to the website of the German Specialist Medical Centre (DFZ) on Mallorca. On our website we would like to introduce our Medical Centers and at the same time demonstrate to you a small spectrum of our work and the services we render. We have two medical centers in the south west of Mallorca: in Paguera and in Santa Ponsa. As we have our own laboratory we are in the position to carry out the laboratory analyses required immediately. Both our medical centers have the most modern medical equipment and facilities. X-ray, Stress ECG, ultrasound, with digital color Doppler, pulmonary function machine, gastroscopy and colonoscopy are just part of our spectrum along with chirotherapy, acupuncture, bone densitometry, naturopathy, homeopathy, the diagnostics and therapy of skin diseases and vein disorders - complemented by sports medicine as well! These medical centers are Outpatient Centers like polyclinics offering a wide range of outpatient medical treatments thus avoiding - as far as possible - in-patient care. We take pride to have a strong patient orientation, therefore our specialists are committed to give you the best and most effective treatment with long lasting results in order to avoid inconvenient return visits with endless check-ups. We are convinced that a healed, satisfied patient brings more repute to our establishment than a patient constantly returning for new appointments. We also place great value on prophylactics in order to save people making frequent demands on our time in carrying out remedial care. We all know the wonderful Chinese tale how the Chinese paid their personal physicians if they remained healthy…?.. In December 2001 the initiative was taken by four doctors of our group to establish ' Physio Balear S.A. ' in Paguera as well now also located in Santa Ponsa. The reason for this initiative was the improve even further on the convenience and well-being of our patients by enhancing our therapy enabled by a close cooperation between doctors, physiotherapists and masseurs to achieve for our patients the most efficient treatment and therapy with long lasting results. Healing remains the highest goal of the alliance of patient –? physician –? physiotherapist!
Company profile of the German Specialist Medical Centre Paguera and Santa Ponsa In 1988, Dr Rainer Büngeler founded the German Specialist Medical Centre, in his capacity as the first German practitioner of general medicine. His all-round education in different areas of medicine made him in to the ‘all-round doctor’ enabling him to become a good family physician. As such he was on duty day and night as a ‘lone wolf’, up to 1994, in the first German practice on Mallorca. There subsequently took place the building up of the Specialist Medical Centres in Paguera (since1994) and later also in Santa Ponsa (since1999), with the goal of providing optimum OUT-PATIENT CARE. A core theme of Dr Rainer Büngeler’s approach was to preserve the good and improve, where possible, even on a daily basis. This principle has proved its worth for the benefit of patients and colleagues alike and shall, for that reason, hopefully be continued for many more years. Since the death of Dr Rainer Büngeler in 2004, the centres have continued in his chosen path, thanks to the business management of his wife Frau Birgit Büngeler and under the medical direction of Dr Andreas Leonhard.
